Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation

The pelvic floor consists of several layers of muscles that cover the bottom of the pelvic cavity. These muscles have several distinct roles including pelvic organ support (bladder, uterus, and colon), assisting in defecation and urination as well aid in sexual appreciation.

A dysfunction of the muscles results in inability to properly activate the muscles for bowel and bladder functions as well as organ support and sexual activity.

Pelvic rehabilitation will assist each patient to take control over their symptoms while enjoying getting more active and well.

Dr. Potter is trained in both Female and Male Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation as well General Orthopedic Rehabilitation.

Consultation sessions are available in-person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays or virtual and concierge Physical Therapy appointments on Mondays and Thursdays.

TMJ and Neck Pain

Potter Physical Therapy provides a comprehensive evaluation to treat Temporomandibular Joint Pain as well management of Headaches and Neck pain.

TMJ pain and neck pain often happens together. Dr. Potter is trained by Roccobado Institute and Steven Strauss who are the experts in treating jaw and neck pain.

TMJ pain may be a result from injury to head and or jaw, poor posture, cervical disc or joint dysfunction. Dr. Potter provides hands-on every session and gets to the bottom of the cause of the TMJ dysfunction. Patients will also receive extensive education on jaw and neck care as well costumized home exercise program.

EDS/HSD Rehabilitation

Connective tissue is a broad term that encompasses a variety of tissue types, but their purpose is the same: to connect organs, tissue, and muscles together. Connective tissue can refer to tissue within organs, tissue involving bones, or the tissue that connects our skin to our muscles.
Some people may have a genetic disorder like EDS, or immune systems disorder like Rheumatoid Arthritis, or idiopathic connective tissue inflammation like Fibromyalgia. Most patients will presents with multi-body part dysfunctions (all joints, all ligaments, generalized pain and so on).
Connective tissue rehabilitation treats the patient from head to toe and designs a program that addresses each individual's needs.

Potter Physical Therapy offers wellness and fitness sessions for individuals that are seeking weight loss, body tone, cardio improvement , cholesterol  and diabetes management via exercise,  and healthier life style. 

Each session is customized to the client's need and may include but not limit  to weightbearing exercises, abdominal (core) stabilization, resistance bands, free weights, body weight, Tabata style workouts,  circuit training, biometrics pre and post 10 sessions, nutritional recommendation, vitals monitoring, and assisted stretches (hands-on yoga style).

The Wellness program is available in-person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays or virtual or concierge appointments on Mondays and Thursdays

Pelvic Floor Program for Erectile Dysfunction

Conservative treatment for Erectile dysfunction with pelvic floor exercises

Potter Physical Therapy proposes a collaboration of effort with physicians to add to their patients’ current treatment for erectile dysfunction a six weeks of intense pelvic floor physical therapy for erectile dysfunction. The holistic program involves the following: 

  • Individual treatment sessions 2x/week (6-week program or more)

  • Thorough pelvic floor muscles and musculoskeletal evaluation at initial visit

  • Baseline assessment and every 3 weeks after via IIEF-5, EHS, NHI standardized questionnaires

  • Education and treatment to control their bladder, bowel and sexual function

  • Individualized pelvic floor muscles exercises and cardiovascular exercises 

  • Modalities (surface/rectal electrical simulation, biofeedback, therapeutic ultrasound) 

  • Patient education on diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of Care

  • Reinforce physicians’ current recommendations on medications, VED and lifestyle modifications 

  • Reinforce management to decrease obesity, hypertension and diabetes via individualized exercise and nutritional programs.
