You do not need a doctor's referral to see Dr. Potter. However, having a script from your physician is preferable, as our clinic requires a signed plan of care within 30 days. We can help guide you through this process.
For Fitness and Wellness clients, a doctor’s prescription is not required.To schedule your first appointment, call us at (813) 265-3033 or book online.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete the paperwork if you haven't already done so through our patient portal.During your initial consultation, Dr. Potter will assess all factors that may affect your pelvic floor function, such as bladder, bowel, pre- and post-partum concerns, sexual function, pelvic pain, and any past surgeries or treatments (e.g., hysterectomy, chemotherapy, radiation).
This evaluation includes a detailed pelvic examination (vaginal/rectal) to assess muscle function, coordination, tone, and recruitment.
Dr. Potter will explain the value of the examination, and it will only proceed with mutual agreement between the patient and therapist.The EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and HSD (Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder) initial evaluation is highly specialized and requires a comprehensive approach.
Dr. Potter takes a thorough, holistic look at areas such as pain, headaches, POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), bowel and bladder function, MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome), joint dislocations, sleep patterns, braces, posture, and musculoskeletal health.
You will receive written recommendations for a home exercise plan and follow-up care with specialists if needed.Pelvic floor physical therapy has been shown to help reduce erectile dysfunction.
